How To Prepare For Bowron Lake Trips

By Donald Cole

If you would like to paddle in the wilderness, look for the best site that will provide you with the best experience. The canoe route you choose should be adventurous and give you the best experience. Bowron lake trips are one of the most exciting tours you can take. The west side of the circuit can take two to four days to paddle. This side is suitable for people that do not want to take the more significant challenge of the entire route. Many people recommend this circuit as it will give you the best canoeing experience. Below are things you should know before you take off.

Since you will be paddling almost ninety-five percent of the time, you should consider packing only the essential things, you may want to be as comfortable as possible but remember that this is not your home. Hence, you must do away with some things and carry the ones that are critical for the trip.

You should also be ready to be very lonely. This circuit is not a trip to wonderland or famous museums. Therefore, you will spend most of the time on your own. The water, trees, and other beautiful sceneries will be your companions. It is possible to paddle for over fifteen kilometers and not meet anyone. The southern part, however, contains several people. Thus, if you need company, you can go to that direction.

Be ready to experience four seasons in one day. This is because the weather is so unpredictable at the circuit. One moment the sun will be up high, and rain pours down the next moment. You may have a rainy and cold morning, and the afternoon turns out to be extremely hot. Thus, ensure that you carry the right gear to face all the weather changes.

Do not be in any rush because most camping sites will be empty. Do not rush to get on the water early to secure a suitable site as there will be plenty of grounds to camp in. There are usually limited paddlers on the circuits. Hence you will easily find a good spot to camp for the night. For this reason, take as much time as you want on the waters.

If you do not have the chance to see any wildlife, you should not feel disappointed. This is because you are going to paddle and not visiting a zoo. Hence, look out for the prints of the animals along the beach or campsite. You should also try to be comfortable because you will paddle almost the entire day.

Never forget to carry your camera during the adventure. The scenery at the circuit is mind-blowing, and it will be a waste if you do not capture them on camera. Thus, buy a quality camera to take the best shots that you will later show off to your friends.

The crystal clear waters will be very inviting, especially during sunny afternoons. Thus, create a swimming schedule that will not affect your canoeing schedule. Additionally, ensure that the campground you choose will provide you with beautiful views of trees, mountains, and beautiful morning sun rays.
