When choosing a vacation spot, there are few more inviting locales than a beach destination. Costa Rica is a nation in central America that has miles of beautiful, pristine beaches just wanting to be explored. There are also lots of lush jungles to explore, as well as colorful villages. If you go to Jaco, you can get all of this and more by going on Jaco Costa Rica Excursions.

Playa Jaco, as the area is officially called, is near the large city of San Jose. It is a long beach that encompasses 2.5 miles of coastline, and is home to lots of jungle areas as well. When you come here, you get the best of several worlds all rolled up into one.

Some people love adventure type excursions, and there are certainly plenty of those available. However, if your family would much rather relax, then you can simply do what is called a beach day excursion. You can get food and drink from the locals, and then sit on in the sand and just read or build castles. Wade into the water with a snorkel, or try surfing on for size since the wave in the area are legendary.

The nearby jungles offer a wide variety of activities that the locals have planned out to maximize your fun and adventure. You can take a guided tour that lets you see the green foliage and local wildlife such as the adorable spider monkeys that live in the area. You will get to see waterfalls that look like they came straight from a postcard, and will be fed and give plenty of water to drink to keep up your energy for this day-long journey.

Some people would rather take in the sights with a birdseye view, and Jaco is a great place to do this. There are tons of zipline businesses that have lots of heart-pounding lines that take you above the action at great speed. There are also aerial trams that let you take a more leisurely stroll across the sky, overseeing the beautiful green landscape.

Horseback riding is quite popular in the vicinity, and the chance to ride a horse on a beach or in a jungle is too tempting for most to pass up, which is why this is a popular excursion. You do not have to be an expert rider to take this tour, either. All levels from never ridden to experienced are welcome to join, and the guides can help you learn how to get on and direct the horse easily.

Boats are another important form of local transportation that you may experience a variety of them at Jaco. You can ride on a catamaran for a relaxing day out on the open ocean. Or board a speed boat and let your pulse race as you race through the water at lightning speed.

Finally, many tourists who have been to the area will tell you that the Manual Antonio National Park is a must on your visit. There are half and full-day tours that let you visit all the hotspots, including hiking through the jungle, feeding sloths and monkeys, and having a picnic.
