Whether going on a domestic or international business trip or family vacation, it can often be expensive. While this is the case, a Travel Club Subscription can often cut the price of a trip in half. In other cases, budget minded individuals can often find discounts and plan a vacation without having to pay the dues which most of these organizations charge on an annual basis.

At the same time, many of these type clubs have a lot to offer when it comes to discounts. Regardless of the type of discount, most are often substantial. As such, the first step to selecting a club is knowing which mode of travel will be desired on a regular basis.

While clubs like AAA offer a number of discounts related to travel and lodging, there are also local offerings along with driver protection. As such, many individuals and families, even those whom do not travel as often as others often subscribe to a basic or upper level membership. For, in most areas, there are discounts offered on everything from amusement parks, restaurants and theaters to local concerts and festivals.

One of the most popular clubs, especially among college students is that of Dream Vacations. For, the club offers great discounts on domestic and international trips and tours. As such, exchange students and others often find the discounts very beneficial during Spring and Summer breaks. While this is the case, the club has also become attractive to luxury and world wide travelers whom can afford the fees and travel associated with membership.

Most destination and travel clubs are based on the business subscription model. In almost all cases, these type organizations require an individual of family to subscribe on an annual or lifetime basis. Pioneered by newspapers and magazines, the model has now become active in community organizations, gyms, housing, shopping and travel.

In some cases, these clubs offer pre-planned tours and vacations. Whereas, others provide discounts on airlines, car rentals, hotel stays, train tickets and entertainment. In most cases, home and vacation time shares have an additional discount program. Whereas, there are some companies and organizations that only offer pre-planned itineraries, especially those related to bus and train tours.

One of the most expensive of these clubs in the United States is related to RV parks and campgrounds. Whether looking at an automobile association, camping, time share, travel or vacation club, it pays to read the fine print. After which, it can be often easier to make an educated decision about becoming a member.

While these organizations can often be a good option for some travelers, those living on limited income, retirees and students may also want to check out discounts offered by airlines, bus and train companies and hotels on an individual basis. For example, in the United States, Greyhound, Amtrak and many hotels offer discounted rates to students and senior citizens.
